Google Pixel phone - 7 things the iPhone 7 can do Google fans can only dream of

GOOGLE has just unveiled its Pixel phone and is hoping it has enough features to convince Apple fans to ditch their iPhone.

Google is pretty confident that its new Pixel phone is going to be a big hit.
With a AMOLED HD screen, decent camera, fast processor and premium design it's certainly got plenty going for it.
Google is also including an easy way for iPhone owners to transfer their digital life from iOS to Android and is hoping Apple fans will jump ship.
The Pixel is available for pre-order now with prices starting from a hefty £599 but before you make the switch here's seven things the Pixel can't do over its Apple rival.

HERE'S 7 THINGS THE iPHONE CAN DO THAT THE PIXEL CAN'T

1. TAKE IN THE BATH

Google's Pixel can survive the odd splash of rain but dropping it down the loo could cause you a tech headache.
Apple recently made their iPhone 7 and 7 Plus water resistant and it can now cope with a thorough soaking.
In fact, Apple says users shouldn't have any issues with a 30-minute dip with their iPhone.

2. CAMERA ZOOM

Google made a big song and dance about the Pixel's new camera including boasting that it's scored the highest marks ever from the famous DXO image tests.
Daily Star Online hasn't tested this new camera yet but we do know one thing it doesn't have that the iPhone does.
The new iPhone 7 Plus includes a dual lens which allows users to zoom when taking pictures.
And we're not talking a pixel-busting digital zoom as the iPhone 7 Plus features a 2X optical zoom.
This dual lens is also capable of taking pictures with depth of field making your smartphone snaps look like they've been taken on a pro camera.

3. iOS 10

Android is getting much more user friendly and the Pixel features Google's very latest version of its Nougat software.
However, Apple's iOS is still the easiest operating system to navigate and if you've got a Mac or an iPad you'll find it hard to switch to Android.
Apps and games such as Nintendo's Super Mario Run often launch on iOS first, which is another reason to stick firmly with the iPhone.

4. FORCE TOUCH

Apple introduced its Force Touch display last year and it's still one of the only smartphones on the market with this technology.
Force Touch allows you to apply pressure to the screen to get quick access to features within apps and the iPhone's settings.
Although the Pixel includes a super-sharp AMOLED display it doesn't feature any pressure sensitive tricks.

5. HUGE STORAGE

Google is offering unlimited free cloud storage for anyone buying its Pixel but, unlike some of its Android rivals, it hasn't included expandable storage on the actual device.
Although Apple doesn't have anyway of increasing memory, it has launched an iPhone with a whopping 256GB of storage which is double that of Google's biggest Pixel.

6. STEREO SPEAKERS

It may not have a headphone port but the iPhone does has an incredible pair of stereo speakers.

7. iPHONE FACTOR

Google has priced its Pixel in direct competition with Apple's iPhone and this could be its biggest hurdle.
The iPhone is now nine years old and has a faithful army of loyal fans.
With A-list celebs often caught using Apple's smartphone it's also still seen as the must-have device to own.
Google is taking a big risk by pricing their Pixel so high and convincing fans to switch could be a tall order.
