For allegedly stealing gold jewelries valued at N15 million, a Lagos Magistrate Court sitting in Ikeja has ordered three ladies to be remanded in prison custody. The ladies, including two sisters, Gloria (28) and Naomi Joshua (20) and Gift Etim (28), were ordered to be remanded in prison custody by the court pending the perfection of their bail conditions. They were arraigned on a two count charge bordering on stealing and felony before magistrate O.A. Olayinka. However, they all pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them. The prosecutor, Sergeant Donjor Penezi informed the court that the defendants stole a box of gold valued at N15 million, property of one Vivian Chilogy. According to him, they committed the offence on January 21, 2016 at about 12:00pm at Lekki phase 1 Lagos. The prosecutor said that the offence committed were contrary to section 285(1) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. Each of them were admitted to bail by Magistrate Olayinka in the sum of N1million and two sureties in like sum. The trial magistrate thereafter adjourned the matter till April 21,2016.
