We Will Resolve “Our Issues” This Week – PDP

In recent times the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has not had its name in the news for good reasons, Alhaji Ahmed Gulak erstwhile Political Adviser to Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, had approached the Federal High Court, to enforce the PDP Constitutional Provision, in relation to the same Sub regional replacement of the party’s Chairmanship, which became vacant after the resignation of Immediate past Chairman Alhaji Adamu Muazu, after the Parties Dismal Outing in the 2015 General Elections.
Prince Uche Secondus the National Vice Chairman has Since been in Acting Capacity since May 20th 2015, This has been main issue, Alhaji Gulak has since protested as contravening the extant provision of the PDP Constitution which stipulates a 3month Acting Capacity up to the time the National Executive Committee (NEC) can meet and appoint a substantive Chairman from the Same Region as the resigned Chairman, which is in this context is the North East.
The Gulak Group, Secured a Judgement from a Fedral High Court Directing the Party to affirm either Gulak or any other person from the North East Region, leading to a commando style take over and press briefing in the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting room of the Wadata House office Headquarters of the PDP, by Gulak and his Supporters, at the same time the NWC were in an Emergency meeting at the Legacy house Office of the Party.
The PDP Governors Forum Led by Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State had to intervene by prevailing on the acting Chairman to temporarily cede Control of Party Command Structures, as Acting Chairman, to Prof Olawale Oladipo the National Secretary of the Party whilst it coordinates the North East Caucus to meet and decide for itself a nomination of 3 candidates to be voted for at the NEC meeting of the Party Slated for Sometime this Week.
This may also be viewed from the Perspective that a key Influential member of the NWC, Chief Olisa Metuh has been unavoidably absent due to an ongoing trial prosecuted by the EFCC, which Associates of Chief Metuh describe as a calculated attempt by the ruling Party APC to Muzzle the Opposition.
Chief Metuh has since regain his freedom after meeting a varied bail Condition by the Federal High Curt.
